I exist as I am, that is enough
I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey work of the stars, And the pismire is equally perfect, and a grain of sand, and the egg of the wren ~~Walt Whitman
A century and a half later and we're still
digging Whitman's impressions. Today I
learned that tears of joy and tears of despair
have totally different chemical content - we
decide what effect the pismires have on us.
Tomorrow we think about freedom and
apparently we can laugh at the Windsors
because the colonists were able to send
embellished words of the militia's success
back to England faster than they could get
the word back to the greatest army of that
time. That's slicker than clean sox on a waxed
floor.
